Netflix has announced the upcoming release of “The Body,” a supernatural teen thriller set to premiere on November 11. The eight-episode series, created by Quinn Shephard, draws creative inspiration from 1990s and early 2000s teen horror films like “Carrie” and “Jennifer’s Body.” The story follows a group of Catholic schoolgirls who experience mysterious visions with prophetic qualities after a dance team initiation goes tragically wrong, sparking widespread panic throughout their community.
The cast features several emerging and established actors in key roles. Kristina Bogic takes the lead as Anya Butler, alongside Sara Boustany as Elise Zakaria and Geena Meszaros as Lisbeth Anderson. Additional cast members include Sofia Wylie as Grace Franklin, Louisa Krause as Maddie Delaney, Nnamdi Asomugha as Father Franklin, and Jackson Kelly as Leo Anderson. The production also features an extensive lineup of recurring cast members contributing to the ensemble narrative.
Shephard serves as both showrunner and director for the project. Executive producers involved in the series include Peter Chernin, Amy Israel, and Josh Stern, alongside Riley Keough, Gina Gammell, and Sacha Ben Harroche.
