The University at Albany football team made a strong statement in its season opener, decisively defeating the University of New Hampshire 28-14 on Friday night at Casey Stadium. The victory marked the first game under new head coach Tom Perkovich, who arrived at the Division I program after a decade of success coaching at the Division III level. The rushing attack proved particularly impressive given the team’s struggles in previous seasons. Running backs Joey Koch and Rahshan La Mons led the charge, with Koch delivering an especially remarkable performance.
