Tom Pelissero has secured new opportunities with Netflix and The Ringer following his recent departure from ESPN. The sports journalist will take on multiple roles across both platforms, marking his next chapter after the streaming service’s acquisition of NFL Network resulted in significant staff reductions last month.
In his new position, Pelissero will provide sideline reporting coverage for Netflix’s complete slate of NFL games throughout the season. His first assignment with the streamer will be the Rams versus 49ers matchup scheduled for September 10 in Melbourne, Australia. He is also slated to cover additional games on Thanksgiving Eve, a Christmas doubleheader, and a Week 18 contest.
Beyond his broadcasting duties, Pelissero will expand his presence through The Ringer’s podcast network. He will serve as co-host for The Ringer’s NFL Show and make regular appearances on The Bill Simmons Podcast every Thursday during football season. The broadcaster will also contribute written content about the league for The Ringer’s platform on Spotify.
Pelissero’s career in sports broadcasting spans nearly a decade, beginning with his 2017 arrival at NFL Network. His transition to Netflix and The Ringer represents a significant move as traditional media outlets continue to adapt to the evolving sports broadcasting landscape.
