Marquette’s offensive firepower proved overwhelming in a dominant 69-45 nonconference victory over Kettle Moraine on Friday evening at Hart Park. The Hilltoppers amassed an impressive 648 total yards of offense, combining both ground and aerial attacks to score eight touchdowns across the contest.
Senior quarterback Ben Schroeder orchestrated the offensive explosion, passing for 316 yards while throwing five touchdowns. Running back Bear Bonk contributed significantly on the ground, rushing for 255 yards and three scores. Wide receiver Christian Miller emerged as Schroeder’s primary target, accumulating four receptions for 111 yards and one touchdown in the high-scoring affair.
Marquette’s defense also made crucial contributions to the victory. Caleb Miller recorded two interceptions, while linebacker Jett Allen led the unit with 16 total tackles, including two for loss, and recovered a fumble. The defensive line, anchored by Atticus Godfrey, effectively disrupted Kettle Moraine’s offensive rhythm throughout the game.
Despite the loss, Kettle Moraine generated some offensive success through senior running back Nico Yttre, who rushed for 291 yards and one touchdown. Marquette improves to 2-1 and will face Franklin next week, while Kettle Moraine remains winless and seeks its first victory against Sussex Hamilton.
