Liverpool Football Club has announced the acquisition of teenage forward Djylian N’Guessan from French club Saint-Etienne. The 18-year-old prospect will officially become a Liverpool player when the January transfer window opens, though the club has not disclosed the financial terms of the agreement.
Rather than immediately joining the Premier League side, N’Guessan will remain in France on loan, continuing his development with Ligue 1 club Brest for the remainder of the current season. The young forward progressed through Saint-Etienne’s youth system before making his senior debut in January 2025 and has since accumulated 13 appearances with one goal to his name.
N’Guessan brings international youth experience to Anfield, having represented France at last year’s under-20 World Cup, appearing in seven matches for the national team. His exact role within Liverpool’s squad structure remains uncertain at this stage.
The signing complements Liverpool’s active summer transfer activity, which included securing Spanish winger Victor Muñoz from Osasuna and completing a significant £123 million deal for French forward Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain.
