Katrina Scott, a freshman on the Tennessee Lady Vols tennis roster, participated in qualifying rounds for the 2026 US Open this week at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens. The Los Angeles native faced Katie Swan in the competition, ultimately falling with a final score of 6-3, 6-1 on Court 17.
During the match, Scott accumulated 35 total points, with 22 coming from her serve. Her first-serve success rate reached 95 percent, while she converted 50 percent of her second-serve attempts. She committed just one double fault throughout the match. Scott earned her qualifying position by reaching the finals of the USTA American Collegiate Wildcard Playoffs, where she defeated Ohio State’s Luciana Perry in a three-set victory.
Scott has already made significant strides in her tennis career. She achieved a 5-4 singles record and 6-4 doubles record during the Lady Vols’ spring season, earning First-Team All-American honors and SEC Player of the Week recognition in April. Her résumé includes appearances in all four Grand Slam tournaments and four professional singles titles, along with one doubles championship. Upon joining Tennessee, she was ranked No. 312 in WTA singles.
