Netflix’s acclaimed musical fantasy film “KPop Demon Hunters” is receiving the prestigious Criterion Collection treatment with a new physical media release. The announcement includes official cover art featuring an anime-style illustration of the film’s main characters alongside Derpy, a blue supernatural tiger from the story. Consumers can now pre-order the release through various retailers.
The home entertainment package will be available in two formats: a standard Blu-ray edition priced at $39.95 and a 4K UHD version at $49.95. While specific details about bonus content have not yet been disclosed, the cover art unveiling marks the first major announcement regarding the physical release. Further information about special features is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
The Criterion release arrives following the film’s remarkable success since its debut last June. The movie became Netflix’s most-streamed film of 2025 and won the Academy Award for best animated feature. Its soundtrack dominated the charts, reaching number one on the Billboard 200, while the lead single “Golden” achieved a chart-topping position on the Hot 100. The film’s cultural impact has extended beyond entertainment, generating numerous commercial partnerships and licensing agreements with major toy manufacturers. A sequel is currently in development at Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation.
