Olivia Rodrigo brought her inaugural all-women music festival to a memorable close with a star-studded headlining performance at Daisy Chain Fields in Irvine, California on Saturday evening. The event, which raised $10 million for nonprofits supporting women and girls, drew inspiration from Lilith Fair, the legendary 1990s touring festival.
Rodrigo’s headlining set featured multiple special guest appearances from her musical influences. She performed with Sarah McLachlan, one of Lilith Fair’s founders, on “Building a Mystery” and “Angel,” dedicating the latter to the recently deceased Dolly Parton. Alanis Morissette joined Rodrigo for a rendition of “Ironic” from her landmark album Jagged Little Pill, while Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks took the stage to duet on “Landslide,” with the two artists trading verses and dancing together throughout the performance.
During the evening, Nicks expressed admiration for Rodrigo’s accomplishment, comparing the younger artist to herself at a similar age and praising her ability to organize such an ambitious event. Rodrigo also performed material from throughout her career, including songs from her latest album You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love and recent single “Serena Joy,” alongside earlier hits like “Good 4 U” and “Drivers License.”
