The film captured nearly 59 percent of the total market share, drawing over 1.6 million moviegoers. This strong performance marks a nearly 28 percent increase from its opening weekend, bringing the film’s cumulative total to $35.2 million since its August 5 debut.
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” secured second place in its third week of release, generating $5.6 million from approximately 768,000 admissions. The superhero film has amassed $53.5 million in total South Korean earnings. Despite trailing “The Odyssey,” the Marvel film continues to perform solidly at the local box office.
Several new releases competed for audience attention this weekend. “Ok! Madam: Bon Voyage,” a local action-comedy sequel featuring Uhm Jung-hwa, opened in fourth place with $827,800 in weekend earnings. The film follows a former secret agent navigating a hostage crisis during a family cruise. “Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie” debuted in sixth position, while the anime mystery “Detective Conan the Movie: Fallen Angel of the Highway” landed in fifth place.
The overall South Korean box office generated $22.3 million for the weekend, maintaining consistent performance levels compared to the previous week.
