In her new capacity on the organization’s board, Zamora will focus on expanding opportunities for female leaders in the sector while promoting Spanish-language productions globally.
During her tenure leading Costa Rica’s film commission since 2024, Zamora significantly expanded the country’s profile in the international production landscape. She oversaw more than 200 projects from major entertainment companies and helped facilitate a dramatic increase in film investment—growing from approximately $4 million in 2023 to $12 million in 2024, with approximately $11 million in 2025. Her achievements include attracting high-profile productions such as “Hope/Esperanza,” featuring Oscar-winning producer Mark Johnson.
Zamora’s efforts to revitalize the Costa Rica Media Market over the past two years have earned recognition from regional and international organizations. The acclaimed professional, who has received more than 30 awards including a United Nations SDGs and Her Award, expressed optimism about the future of Spanish-language content. “I firmly believe that the next great chapter in audiovisual media will be written in Spanish,” she stated, emphasizing her vision for the region’s creative potential and economic growth.
