Kentucky volleyball extended its winning streak to three consecutive victories Wednesday evening, dispatching UCLA in dominant fashion with a 3-0 sweep. The final set scores of 25-13, 25-18, and 25-23 reflected the Wildcats’ commanding performance throughout the match against the Bruins.
Morgan Gaerte led Kentucky’s offensive attack with 16 kills and an impressive .364 hitting percentage, while also contributing two blocks. Brooklyn DeLeye followed closely behind with 15 kills of her own. Asia Thigpen provided additional firepower with 10 kills and 9 digs, while setter Kassie O’Brien orchestrated the offense with 43 assists.
The Wildcats controlled the action from start to finish, jumping out to an early advantage in the opening set and maintaining their momentum throughout. Although UCLA managed to keep the third set competitive, Kentucky’s consistent execution proved too much to overcome.
Looking ahead, Kentucky will face Penn State on Sunday in an attempt to reach four consecutive wins. The matchup is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. ET, presenting another test against a familiar opponent as the Wildcats continue their early-season push.
