Multiple injuries were reported across southern Gaza following the weekend attacks. At least five people, including children, sustained wounds in Khan Younis and Rafah. Displaced persons sheltering in tents in Khan Younis faced fire from an Israeli tank, with one woman critically injured. Additional casualties occurred in the al-Mawasi coastal region of Rafah and Gaza City’s Tuffah neighborhood when Israeli artillery shelled eastern Khan Younis and the al-Mahatta area.
Since October 2023, the Gaza Health Ministry reports a cumulative death toll of 73,386 with 174,250 wounded. Officials noted that thousands of victims remain uncounted beneath destroyed structures, as emergency response teams face access restrictions. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Sunday that Israel has rejected a 15-point United States peace proposal for Gaza, stating that Israeli forces will maintain their presence until Hamas is fully disarmed. The decision leaves the ceasefire’s terms and any Israeli withdrawal timeline unresolved.
