After more than a decade of anticipation, Rockstar Games is preparing to launch “Grand Theft Auto VI” on November 19. The highly anticipated title will be available exclusively on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S consoles at launch, with no confirmed PC release date as of yet. The standard edition will retail for $79.99, while an ultimate version featuring exclusive vehicles, weapons, and apparel will cost $99.99.
The game centers on protagonists Jason and Lucia, a duo navigating a dangerous criminal underworld. Following a botched operation, the pair becomes entangled in a sprawling conspiracy across Leonida, a fictional state inspired by Florida. To survive, they must depend entirely on each other as they navigate both urban environments and diverse regional landscapes including coastal areas, grasslands, and mountainous terrain. An extended preview released on Netflix on August 27 showcased scenes from the game captured on PlayStation 5.
The supporting cast includes memorable characters such as Boobie Ike, a Vice City entrepreneur with interests in real estate and entertainment, and Raul Bautista, an experienced bank robber. The narrative also features Bae-Luxe and Roxy, a rap duo seeking to establish their music careers beyond their current circumstances. Developer Rockstar North has maintained the franchise’s signature photorealistic visuals and detailed character animations. Preorders launched in June, with the game’s development spanning thirteen years despite facing delays and security breaches along the way.
