Philadelphia Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman expressed his admiration for veteran tight end Zach Ertz while stopping short of confirming any reunion plans. Ertz, who spent over eight seasons with the franchise and contributed to their Super Bowl victory, was cleared for full football activities in August following an ACL tear sustained last December. The former Pro Bowler remains unsigned as the regular season approaches.
Roseman praised Ertz as one of the greatest players at his position and highlighted the strong personal relationship between the organization and the veteran. However, the GM emphasized his confidence in the team’s current tight end depth, which includes Dallas Goedert, Johnny Mundt, E.J. Jenkins, and second-round draft pick Eli Stowers on the active roster.
Despite Roseman’s cautious remarks, a potential return to Philadelphia remains possible. Ertz demonstrated continued productivity before his injury, recording 116 receptions for 1,158 yards and 11 touchdowns across 30 games with the Washington Commanders over the past two seasons. If the Eagles determine they need additional options at the position, Ertz could have an opportunity to finish his career where it began.
