Microsoft has opened preorders for its Xbox 25th Anniversary Collection, a special bundle unveiled in June that commemorates two and a half decades of the gaming platform. The collection features a console and matching wireless controller with translucent “OG Green” finishes, drawing design inspiration from the original Xbox Launch Team Edition released in 2001.
The full Xbox 25th Anniversary Collection carries a price tag of $899.99 and is scheduled to arrive on November 13. Consumers interested in purchasing just the controller can do so separately for $79.99, with availability beginning October 20. The console bundle includes a complimentary download of “Halo: Campaign Evolved,” a newly released remake of the franchise’s original title.
The limited-edition Series X25 console features a glowing green power button, translucent housing that reveals internal components, and a unique production number engraved on each unit. The matching controller includes button and bumper designs reminiscent of Microsoft’s first-generation gamepad. Preorders began Wednesday for select dedicated fans and opened to the general public on August 27 at 10 a.m. ET through the Xbox website and major retailers including Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and Walmart. The special edition controller sold out quickly at most locations.
Beyond the console bundle, Microsoft is collaborating with IKEA and Razer to release additional limited-edition products celebrating the company’s 25th anniversary milestone.
