Marcus Anthony Thomas, who recently completed a directing mentorship with HBO’s “House of the Dragon,” is now in production on his first feature film. The psychological thriller “Cast Me!” is currently filming in London under Thomas’s direction and has assembled a notable ensemble cast for the project.
The film stars rising actress Iniki Mariano in her feature debut, alongside established performers including Samuel Adewunmi, Stella Gonet, Dean-Charles Chapman, and Clare Holman. The story follows a young actor named Aanya who believes she has secured a major role after auditioning for a renowned actor making his directorial debut. When the studio reverses the casting decision, her pursuit of answers becomes increasingly obsessive, blurring the boundaries between ambition, performance, and reality.
Thomas wrote and directed the film, which is being produced by Jordi Morera through 2020Films. The production marks the first feature film from Morera’s company to enter production. Thomas previously worked on award-winning short films that have screened at prestigious international festivals, including his most recent project “Space Plug,” which also featured Mariano and premiered at the BFI London Film Festival.
The behind-the-camera team includes cinematographer Adam Singodia, production designers Freddie Burrows and Eve Finnie, costume designer Haden Holme, and composer Oliver Wegmüller, among other key creative positions.
