The United Kingdom’s National Youth Theatre is celebrating its 70th anniversary with a special one-night performance titled “Letters to My Younger Future Self,” scheduled for September 20 at London’s Royal Festival Hall. The event, supported by Netflix, will feature an impressive lineup of accomplished performers and creators reflecting on their earlier selves through written letters and stage appearances.
The newly announced cast includes Rhea Norwood from “Heartstopper,” Susan Wokoma known for “Enola Holmes,” and James Graham, the writer behind “Dear England.” They join previously announced participants such as Jessica Henwick from “Game of Thrones,” India Amarteifio of “Queen Charlotte,” and several other established entertainment professionals. Additional letters will come from notable figures including actor Chiwetel Ejiofor, Joanna Lumley, and Joan Collins.
The production will be helmed by National Youth Theatre’s CEO Paul Roseby and director Josie Daxter, featuring creative contributions from various design and movement specialists. Young talent trained through a Netflix and National Youth Theatre collaboration program will support the event across all production aspects. Tickets are currently available, with proceeds benefiting the organization during its milestone anniversary year, backed by Netflix, Arts Council England, and Eon Productions.
