Boston hardcore band Haywire 617 made a memorable announcement regarding their major label debut this week. The group recently inked a deal with Roadrunner Records and celebrated the milestone by distributing $5,000 in cash into the crowd at Sound and Fury festival. The band’s first album under their new label, titled I Don’t Wanna Say Goodbye, is scheduled for release in October.
The group unveiled their lead single, “Interstate Love Affair,” along with an accompanying music video that captures the chaotic energy synonymous with the band’s approach to hardcore music. The visual features footage from the festival cash giveaway before transitioning into over-the-top scenes reminiscent of early 2000s music video aesthetics, complete with pyrotechnics and destructive antics.
Since forming in 2023, Haywire 617 has maintained an aggressive touring schedule while rapidly building a discography. The group completed a grueling cross-country tour in 2024 and has released five records across three years. Their forthcoming album was produced by Mat Kerekes of Citizen and mixed by Taylor Young, featuring guest appearances from musicians associated with NOTHING and the Aggrolites. Additional fall tour dates include support slots for Turnstile and Circle Jerks.
