Rockstar Games released an extended gameplay video of Grand Theft Auto VI on Netflix, offering viewers a comprehensive look at the upcoming title that goes beyond previously leaked footage. The nearly 30-minute demonstration, captured on PlayStation 5, revealed numerous gameplay features and mechanics that were not visible in earlier leaked videos circulating online.
Among the newly confirmed details are several interactive systems that expand on mechanics from earlier Rockstar titles. Players can engage with non-player characters through contextual actions similar to those found in Red Dead Redemption II, including the ability to pet dogs encountered in the world. The game incorporates a morality system represented by visual icons that track player choices, though specific details about how this system affects gameplay remain unclear. Additionally, social media integration appears prominently, with gameplay sequences showing Instagram Live-style feeds during certain activities, reflecting modern internet culture.
The video also confirmed that protagonist Lucia is fully playable alongside Jason in a Bonnie and Clyde-inspired narrative. Unlike Grand Theft Auto V’s three protagonists who rarely interacted, Jason and Lucia frequently collaborate on missions and activities such as gas station robberies, though players can switch between them when they separate. Other gameplay elements revealed include underwater diving, airboat operation, slow-motion aiming with highlighted weak points, and various character animations like smoking cigars and drinking beverages.
