The Hulu crime drama “Furious” has amassed 43 million hours of viewing time since its July 27 debut, according to figures released by Disney. Featuring Emmy Rossum as an FBI agent pursuing a female serial killer portrayed by Lola Petticrew, the series—created by Elizabeth Meriwether—achieved this milestone in approximately five weeks of availability. The viewing data represents an estimated 6.2 million individual views when calculated using standard industry measurements.
One of the most striking statistics emerging from the viewership data is a dramatic 90% increase in audience engagement for the season finale compared to the premiere episode. This substantial jump demonstrates that “Furious” benefited significantly from word-of-mouth momentum, building viewership substantially throughout its inaugural season rather than experiencing typical initial-drop-off patterns common to streaming releases.
The strong performance has already translated into a renewal for a second season. Critics have also embraced the series, which earned a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Creator Meriwether has indicated that the upcoming season will focus on characters Alice and Nora as they tackle a fresh investigation within the C20 unit, a division specializing in sex crimes cases.
