Larenz Tate, known for his roles in films including “Love Jones” and “Dead Presidents,” is now stepping into a leadership role in the streaming space. The accomplished actor has joined forces with Kenneth Gifford, the founder of the Newark International Film Festival, along with his brothers Larron and Lahmard Tate, to launch Vault. This new platform aims to provide independent filmmakers with greater opportunities to reach global audiences while maintaining creative and financial control over their work.
Vault is designed as a comprehensive streaming hub featuring independent films, television content, documentaries, short-form projects and music. The platform already operates with over 50,000 subscribers and offers both free and paid viewing options. Creators can upload their content at no cost and decide whether to make their work freely available or monetized, while keeping ownership of their pricing and revenue decisions.
The platform equips filmmakers with marketing resources, including the ability to customize genres and create branded landing pages for individual titles to boost visibility and audience engagement. Tate expressed his vision for the venture, noting that independent creators often lack control over distribution and monetization. Through Vault, he aims to shift this dynamic by empowering artists with ownership and access to worldwide audiences. This project builds on the success of TateMen Entertainment’s prior initiatives, which have partnered with major networks including AMC, ALLBLK and Starz.
