Paul Keuker, a 51-year-old concertgoer, died following an accidental fall during a Goose performance at Madison Square Garden on June 20. After the incident, Keuker was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced dead. Medical examiners determined that multiple blunt impact injuries resulting from the fall were responsible for his death.
The band released a statement expressing their sorrow over the tragic incident. “We are deeply saddened and heartbroken to learn of the tragic event that occurred at tonight’s show,” Goose said in their statement. “We extend our deepest sympathy to everyone affected, and thank you to the emergency personnel and venue staff who stepped in with care and support.” Madison Square Garden’s management also issued condolences to the family and friends of the deceased attendee.
Despite the serious nature of the incident, the concert continued as scheduled. The performance area where the fall occurred was cordoned off by police, and affected patrons were relocated to other sections of the venue. Goose completed their full set and encore, which was streamed live on Amazon Music. The band is preparing for an extensive 2026 headlining tour in support of their sixth studio album.
