Matthew Hayden, the former Australian opener who played for CSK between 2008 and 2011, has publicly endorsed Dinesh Karthik as an ideal candidate for the vacant position. Karthik, a former India wicketkeeper, currently serves as batting coach and mentor for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, a team that has achieved consecutive IPL championships during his tenure with the organization.
Hayden emphasized the importance of appointing someone with local connections and Tamil Nadu roots, believing that a Chennai-based coach would bring significant value to the franchise.
