The Miami Dolphins have reunited with quarterback Mark Gronowski following Sunday roster transactions. The move comes approximately nine days after the team initially released him, and just two days following Miami’s preseason opening loss to the Washington Commanders that ended 20-7. Linebacker Cam Riley was also brought onto the roster during the moves.
To accommodate the additions while adhering to NFL roster limits, the Dolphins placed offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer on the injured reserve list and waived cornerback Ethan Robinson with an injury designation. Salyer, who joined the team as a free agent in March, had appeared in 64 career games with 40 starts across left tackle and right guard positions.
Gronowski, an undrafted free agent who originally signed with Miami in May, is a record-setting college quarterback. He won two national championships during his time at South Dakota State while earning the Walter Payton Award in 2023 for top offensive player. After transferring to Iowa for the 2025 season, he posted 1,751 passing yards across 13 games with 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions. His combined 58 victories as a starting quarterback ranks highest in NCAA history.
Riley brings collegiate experience from Auburn and Florida State, having signed as an undrafted free agent with New England in 2025 before spending time on Tennessee’s practice squad. The Dolphins face the New York Giants in preseason Week 2, with a joint practice scheduled for Thursday.
