The feature, available to Plus, Pro, and Business subscribers on both mobile and web platforms, operates through ChatGPT Work, a task management system powered by GPT-5.6. When users request assistance with a task, ChatGPT generates a secure form that directs them through a cloud browser to log into relevant websites. Importantly, login credentials entered through this secure interface remain invisible to the underlying language model and are not retained by the system. Additional security measures include automatic screening of sign-in requests for potential phishing attempts.
Users maintain control over which websites the system can access and must approve each interaction before making irreversible decisions or financial commitments. OpenAI emphasizes that users should avoid sharing passwords directly in chat conversations. While some websites may restrict access from automated agents, the system’s capabilities extend to practical applications like scheduling medical appointments, establishing utility services, and managing travel bookings.
