Morning coverage will launch on “CBS Mornings” and expand into a 90-minute special report beginning at 8:30 a.m., featuring reporting from all three attack sites: Ground Zero in New York, the Pentagon, and the Flight 93 crash site in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Evening programming includes “CBS Evening News” anchored live from Ground Zero at 6:30 p.m., followed by “We Remember,” a primetime special at 8 p.m. that will present personal stories connected to the tragedy.
At 9 p.m., CBS will air “Daughters of 9/11,” examining whether Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the alleged mastermind of the attacks, will face justice. The network will also showcase archival reporting from “60 Minutes” spanning the past quarter-century, while CBS News 24/7 will provide continuous coverage beginning at 7 a.m. This effort joins similar commemorative programming from other major news organizations marking the significant milestone.
