Set in 1975, the film tells an intricate narrative centered around a character named Evelyn who arrives unexpectedly at a holiday gathering. Through her presence, the story unfolds about Tom, an aging recluse who assists a stranded actress during a severe Colorado winter storm decades earlier. The interconnected storylines explore themes of loss, retribution, forgiveness, and the understated compassionate gestures that possess the power to mend profound emotional wounds.
This marks Affleck’s third feature film as director, following his earlier works “Light of My Life” and “I’m Still Here.” The production also introduces his son Atticus to the screen for the first time and represents a second feature appearance for Indiana Affleck.
