BTS member V disclosed during a Wednesday livestream that he is undergoing treatment for hearing loss in his right ear. The performer explained that his right ear now operates at approximately one-third the capacity of his left ear. Initially dismissing the condition as a matter of willpower, V indicated he has since begun taking medication and attending regular hospital visits to address the issue.
The revelation came while BTS continues their Arirang World Tour, which commenced in South Korea this April and marked the group’s first reunion since members completed mandatory military service. The tour has already visited Baltimore and will continue to Los Angeles, Buenos Aires, Bangkok, Sydney, and Hong Kong in coming months. V attributed the worsening of his hearing difficulties to his military service, which he completed in June 2025 after beginning in 2023.
During the same livestream, bandmate Jungkook also shared updates about his health status, revealing he has been managing a shin injury throughout the tour. Jungkook warned that the injury is approaching stress fracture territory and requires careful management to allow him to continue performing with the group.
