The Miami Dolphins made significant roster adjustments Saturday as they prepare for the upcoming season. The team announced 12 total personnel moves, trimming their roster as the NFL deadline approaches.
Among those released were defensive back Alex Austin, offensive lineman Kevin Cline, tight end Ethan Conner, and linebacker Stephen Dix Jr. The Dolphins also cut running backs Coleman Bennett and Donovan Edwards, edge rusher Seth Coleman-Lyles, defensive linemen Alex Huntley and Cam Rice, linebacker Jaheim Thomas, safety Louis Moore, and wide receiver Theo Wease Jr.
Wease represents the most notable name in this round of cuts. The second-year receiver had shown promise during his undrafted rookie campaign, recording six receptions for 139 yards and one touchdown. However, his roster chances diminished considerably after Miami selected three additional wide receivers during the draft, making a return to the 53-man roster unlikely for 2026.
The Dolphins must finalize their roster to the mandatory 53-player limit by Sunday evening’s deadline.
