Despite intense summer heat blanketing Los Angeles, a star-studded crowd gathered Tuesday evening to mark the debut of Mother’s inaugural standalone boutique in Beverly Hills. The brand’s founders, Lela Becker and Tim Kaeding, welcomed an eclectic mix of entertainment industry figures to the celebration, which they playfully dubbed “The Big Boy.” Among attendees were actress Brittany Snow, musician Dave Grohl, model Jasmine Tookes, and fashion icon Daphne Guinness, alongside numerous influencers and style personalities.
The evening featured signature cocktails, vintage décor photo opportunities, and an assortment of food and beverages. Guests enjoyed pink margaritas and champagne alongside miniature fried chicken sandwiches. A particularly memorable element involved cigarettes displayed on silver serving trays throughout the venue, prompting conversation among attendees about smoking trends in the city. The boutique’s vintage phone booth also served as a popular backdrop for photographs.
The celebration took on added significance when DJ Mei Kwok paid musical tribute to Dolly Parton, who had passed away just hours prior to the event. A remix of the late country icon’s classic hit “Jolene” resonated through the gathering. As the festivities concluded, organizers served pizza from neighboring Mulberry Street Pizzeria, transporting the pies in a vintage El Camino parked outside Mother’s new location.
