Among Nix’s newest additions to his playmaking arsenal is an increased reliance on no-look passes. Singleton revealed that the deceptive throwing technique has become a frequent feature of Nix’s practice sessions this summer. While Nix demonstrated the technique last season when he successfully fooled Las Vegas Raiders linebacker Devin White to connect with receiver Courtland Sutton in a Week 14 victory, he appears to be incorporating the move far more frequently this year.
Receiver Jaylen Waddle also commended Nix’s maturity and unique abilities on the field. Waddle emphasized that Nix possesses rare traits and processes the game with an uncommon sophistication for his age. Head coach Sean Payton expressed satisfaction with Nix’s preseason performance, noting his comfortable command of the offense and impressive mobility. Nix completed 6 of 9 passes for 76 yards and one touchdown in his preseason debut, posting a 129.9 passer rating against Green Bay.
The Broncos remain undecided about whether Nix will see action in Friday’s preseason finale against Minnesota. If he does not play, his next appearance will come Monday Night Football against the Kansas City Chiefs.
