Law enforcement officials announced the arrest of a Philadelphia resident in connection with a burglary at the home of Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley. The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office confirmed on Wednesday that 24-year-old Jabir Parker faces multiple serious charges, including burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, and criminal trespass.
Authorities allege that Parker unlawfully entered Barkley’s residence in Tredyffrin Township during the early morning hours of July 18. The athlete and his family were present in the home at the time of the incident, though no injuries were reported. Investigators used geofencing technology, which tracks cellphone location data, to establish Parker’s presence at the crime scene.
The charges against Parker extend beyond the incident at Barkley’s property. Prosecutors say he is also implicated in additional jewelry thefts across Montgomery County. One burglary occurred on June 22 in Bryn Mawr, where approximately $106,700 worth of jewelry was taken. A second incident on July 5 in Wynnewood resulted in the theft of nearly $687,000 in jewelry and a safe. The residents were absent during both of those crimes.
In total, Parker is accused of stealing roughly $1 million in jewelry across the three residential burglaries. The investigation continues as prosecutors build their case against the accused burglar.
