Apple’s highly anticipated settlement payout for a class action lawsuit concerning its Siri artificial intelligence features will take considerably longer to reach eligible consumers than initially expected. A court document reveals that final approval of the settlement is scheduled for February 24, 2027, which actually accelerates the timeline by seven months compared to the previously announced September 2027 date. Nevertheless, actual payments will not begin immediately following court approval, as the standard process requires several additional months for appeal resolution and claim verification.
The $250 million settlement stems from multiple lawsuits consolidated into a single case against Apple. The company had prominently marketed its advanced artificial intelligence capabilities as a central selling point for newer iPhone models in 2024, but ultimately delayed rolling out the promised Siri enhancements. Consumers who purchased qualifying iPhone models between June and March 2025 may be eligible to receive between approximately $25 and $95, depending on the total number of valid claims submitted.
Eligible purchasers include those who bought iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max, 15 Pro, or 15 Pro Max models during the specified window. Currently, the dedicated claims portal remains inactive, so interested parties do not need to take any immediate action. Apple has indicated that notification and claim instructions will be distributed via email and postal mail once the claims process officially opens to the public.
