The American Film Market is introducing a new physical space in Los Angeles designed to showcase emerging trends in the entertainment industry. The Independent Film & Television Alliance announced the opening of The AFM House, positioned near the Fairmont Century Plaza, which will serve as home to an Innovation Hub. The 15,000-square-foot facility combines indoor and outdoor areas intended to function as a collaborative environment for industry professionals, technology companies, filmmakers, distributors, and investors interested in exploring new business models and technologies shaping the future of entertainment.
The Innovation Hub represents a partnership with Cannes Next, an innovation program launched in 2025 by the Cannes Film Market. The space will feature artificial intelligence startups, technology leaders, and cutting-edge content. Additionally, The AFM House will host The Cinemas Club, a speaker series developed jointly with the Cannes Film Market and Cine Group that focuses on the future of theatrical cinema. This program brings together cinema operators, producers, and industry leaders to discuss audience engagement and the evolution of the cinema experience.
The AFM House aligns with the 2026 American Film Market’s theme, “The New Global Screen Economy,” and will operate during the market’s November 10-15 dates at the Fairmont Century Plaza. The venue will be open November 11-14 and will feature discussions, presentations, and a dedicated marketplace highlighting companies and technologies transforming the film and television industries. Industry leaders emphasized that the expansion reflects the entertainment sector’s need for continued innovation and collaboration amid rapid industry transformation.
