Apple is reportedly considering significant changes to its Apple Watch line, though details remain unclear at this stage. According to industry sources, the tech giant’s upcoming smartwatch models launching this year will feature only incremental improvements, including faster performance, fresh color options, updated bands, and enhanced health and fitness features. A ceramic case option may also arrive, though timing is uncertain.
More substantial modifications are being explored for future versions. Apple is investigating various wearable designs, ranging from models without traditional displays to devices with alternative screen types and different form factors. The company is also exploring expanded product tiers, potentially introducing premium variants that surpass current Ultra and Hermès editions, as well as more affordable options below the existing Apple Watch SE.
Given that the Apple Watch has maintained a largely consistent design since its introduction, any significant redesign would represent a noteworthy shift in strategy. However, sources indicate Apple has not yet committed to a specific direction, and any substantial changes will require considerable development time.
Separately, Apple is reportedly already planning successive versions of an upcoming foldable iPhone. Two additional models are scheduled for 2027 and 2028, each featuring moderately expanded displays on both their inner and outer screens.
