Bestselling fantasy author Sarah J. Maas has unveiled the titles and cover art for the next two installments in her popular “A Court of Thorns and Roses” series. Book six, arriving October 27, will be called “A Court of Splintered Harmony,” while the seventh book, scheduled for January 12, 2027, bears the title “A Court of Forgotten Melody.” The covers indicate these novels comprise “The Valkyrie Cycle,” with accompanying taglines suggesting themes of restoration and recovery.
The announcement marks significant momentum for the long-running fantasy saga centered on sisters Feyre, Nesta, and Elain Archeron’s experiences in the faerie world of Prythian. Maas shared the news through dual Instagram posts and coordinated digital billboard campaigns across Los Angeles, Denver, and New York City. Bloomsbury will publish both novels, continuing the publisher’s relationship with the series that already includes five completed titles.
The revelation comes after a setback for the franchise’s television ambitions. A streaming adaptation being developed for Disney’s 20th Television and Hulu with showrunner Ronald D. Moore was abandoned in February 2025 due to creative disagreements. Rights to adapt the series have since reverted to Maas. Despite the failed television project, the author’s broader literary empire continues thriving, with her various series having sold over 85 million English-language copies worldwide.
