Garmin has unveiled its latest generation of smartwatches with the introduction of the Fenix 9 and Fenix 9 Pro models. These devices represent a significant upgrade to the manufacturer’s fitness tracker lineup, incorporating a slimmer profile, enhanced durability, and innovative tracking capabilities. Both models became available for purchase starting August 28, with the standard Fenix 9 priced at $999.99 and the Pro variant at $1,099.99 for the 47mm size.
The new Fenix 9 introduces several noteworthy enhancements designed for serious athletes and outdoor enthusiasts. A standout addition is Garmin Epic, a feature that consolidates multi-day activities into unified narratives rather than separate entries, providing comprehensive insights into extended adventures. The device also offers improved rowing performance metrics and enhanced navigational mapping capabilities. Battery performance reaches approximately 16 days in smartwatch mode, while maintaining the watch’s durability and reduced weight.
The Fenix 9 Pro and its solar-powered variant deliver additional refinements over the standard model. Both feature increased screen brightness and a multi-color LED flashlight capable of white, green, and red illumination. Despite being one gram lighter and marginally thinner than the base model, the Pro versions achieve superior battery longevity, lasting up to 18 days in smartwatch mode. The solar edition extends this further to approximately 34 days through solar charging technology. Notably, Garmin prices both Pro variants identically at $1,099.99 for 47mm and $1,199.99 for 51mm sizes.
All three models are now available for purchase through Garmin’s official website and major retailers, bringing the manufacturer’s latest technology to consumers seeking advanced fitness tracking and outdoor capabilities.
