War Child U.K. has launched the tenth iteration of its Secret 7″ record auction, a unique fundraising initiative featuring 700 specially designed vinyl sleeves created by acclaimed international artists. The campaign brings together musical and visual talent, with each record containing an unrevealed song pressed onto seven-inch vinyl and housed in artwork inspired by the music itself. Buyers will not discover either the song or the artist behind the sleeve design until their auction purchase arrives.
The auction showcases an impressive roster of musical contributors, including a previously unreleased John Lennon track titled “Out the Blue,” alongside songs from contemporary acts such as Glass Animals, Bastille, and The Last Dinner Party. Additional selections span multiple genres and eras, featuring work from artists including Gabrielle and Skin. The visual components were created by an equally distinguished group of designers and artists, ranging from renowned muralist Thierry Noir to ceramicist Clare Twomey and members of established bands who have transitioned into visual arts.
The physical exhibition opened at 180 Studios in London and will remain on display through August 30, while the online auction continues through September 2. All revenue generated through the auction supports War Child’s humanitarian efforts, which include providing mental health services, educational resources, emergency assistance, and child protection programs in conflict-affected regions globally.
