Indonesian streaming service Vidio has announced a partnership with ReelShort, bringing the short-form drama platform into the Indonesian market for the first time. Beginning September 1st, hundreds of ReelShort titles will launch on Vidio through a dedicated Short Drama section, available to subscribers across multiple tier levels. The initial slate includes over 200 titles featuring Indonesian dubbing, with additional content available in Indonesian subtitles.
ReelShort’s catalog features short episodes between 60 and 90 seconds spanning multiple genres including fantasy, romance, and family drama. The partnership extends beyond simple content distribution, incorporating a co-production component that will unite ReelShort with local Indonesian production companies to develop original series for both platforms. This collaboration is designed to provide Indonesian creative professionals with experience in ReelShort’s production methods.
The deal represents ReelShort’s expansion into Southeast Asia, following earlier partnerships in Thailand and the Philippines. ReelShort currently holds approximately 29% of global short-form drama revenue. Indonesia has emerged as the Asia-Pacific region’s largest short-form drama market, accounting for 39% of regional viewership. Vidio currently operates as Indonesia’s leading subscription streaming platform with 20.7% of the country’s SVOD market share and 5.8 million paid subscribers across Southeast Asia.
