Tottenham have agreed to let goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario join Juventus on a temporary basis, with the Italian club having the option to make the deal permanent for £8.6 million. The 29-year-old international is preparing to return to Serie A after his time at the north London club.
Juventus turned their attention to Vicario after abandoning their pursuit of Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez. Villa’s decision to bring in Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki effectively ended the possibility of Martinez moving to Turin, prompting the Italian giants to pursue an alternative solution.
Vicario’s departure comes after manager Roberto de Zerbi moved him down the pecking order at Spurs. The Czech goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky has taken over as the club’s primary option, while Martin Dubravka joined on a free transfer from Burnley over the summer to provide depth. The 29-year-old made 117 appearances for Tottenham following his arrival from Empoli in 2023 for £17.2 million.
Spurs have been active in the transfer market, bringing in six new players while pursuing additional attacking reinforcements. The club has also parted ways with several established players, including former captain Cristian Romero, Djed Spence, and Yves Bissouma.
