The declining approval numbers coincide with growing public concern over the ongoing conflict with Iran. Approximately 80 percent of Americans across party lines believe the war will persist for an extended period, contradicting Trump’s initial promises that the conflict would conclude within weeks. Rising fuel prices have compounded public frustration, with gasoline costs climbing roughly 30 percent compared to a year ago, according to the American Automobile Association.
Trump has justified the military involvement as necessary to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, describing the country as “very evil.” However, recent polling suggests even his most loyal supporters are questioning the economic toll. A separate Politico survey found that only one-third of self-identified supporters of Trump’s Make America Great Again movement believe the war’s costs are justified.
