The Seattle Seahawks fell to 0-2 in their preseason campaign following a 19-16 defeat at the hands of the Tennessee Titans. While the defending Super Bowl champions showed marked improvement compared to their previous 17-7 loss to Dallas, the result continues a disappointing stretch for the storied franchise heading into the regular season.
Seattle’s offense came out firing early, with backup quarterback Drew Lock orchestrating two consecutive touchdown drives in the opening quarter. Kicker Jason Myers added a field goal during that impressive stretch, giving the Seahawks a commanding 16-3 lead. However, the offensive momentum stalled dramatically thereafter, with Seattle unable to record another score for the remainder of the game as Tennessee mounted a furious comeback.
Lock’s stellar performance in the opening quarter solidified his role as the team’s backup quarterback, completing 12 of 14 passes for 103 yards and connecting with tight end Elijah Arroyo on a 36-yard touchdown reception. Second-year quarterback Jalen Milroe struggled significantly in limited action, completing just 6 of 11 attempts for 52 yards while throwing two interceptions. Special teams miscues, including missed extra points and a muffed punt return, also contributed to the Seahawks’ downfall.
On the positive side, running back Jacardia Wright rushed for 81 yards including a 69-yard touchdown, while Arroyo emerged as a receiving weapon with 50 yards and a touchdown. Wide receiver Montorie Foster also made key contributions, suggesting depth players are positioning themselves for roster consideration.
