This expansion follows the company’s acquisition of Anime Ltd. earlier this year and reflects its broader strategic push throughout Europe, with the French headquarters positioned to strengthen ties within the country’s film and animation sectors.
Indonesia’s Ministry of Culture introduced an international film co-production fund featuring annual funding up to $1.13 million, capable of backing approximately ten projects yearly. The initiative aims to attract global filmmakers collaborating with Indonesian production partners, establishing the nation as a central hub for regional co-production work. Developed in collaboration with France’s CNC, the program will accept its first round of applications before the 2027 program cycle begins.
Mexico-based cinema chain Cinépolis formalized a partnership with Unifrance, supported by the French government, to expand the Tour de Cine Francés model internationally. Beginning in 2027, the program will launch across India, Indonesia, Spain and Chile, combining curated festival programming with theatrical distribution. The agreement marks three decades of cooperation between Cinépolis and France. Additionally, major film schools including La Fémis, Gobelins Paris, and UCLA’s film program signed a collaborative declaration emphasizing film education’s role in developing creative talent.
