The match proved competitive throughout, with the Scottish veteran Higgins mounting two separate comebacks to level the score at 2-2. However, Moody’s momentum proved decisive, as he built a 3-2 lead with a break of 46 points. He then sealed victory with a 69-point clearance after Higgins had established a 61-point lead, showcasing the young player’s ability to perform under pressure.
Moody will face fellow Englishman Liam Highfield in Friday’s quarter-final clash. Mark Selby also progressed by beating Iulian Boiko 4-2, confirming his place in a quarter-final against Lisowski.
