Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has completed a move to Italian giants Juventus on a season-long loan arrangement. The deal includes a purchase option valued at £8.6 million, allowing the Serie A club to make the transfer permanent at the conclusion of the loan period.
The 29-year-old Italian international returns to Serie A after three years in English football. His departure comes after Juventus exhausted other goalkeeper targets, including Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez, whose transfer fell through as Villa pursued alternative signings.
At Spurs, Vicario had fallen down the pecking order following the arrival of manager Roberto de Zerbi. The new coach elevated backup goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky to the primary role last season, with Vicario appearing in over 40 matches. De Zerbi has since confirmed Kinsky will continue as his first-choice option, with veteran Martin Dubravka also joining the club to provide additional competition.
Since joining Tottenham from Empoli in 2023 for £17.2 million, Vicario accumulated 117 appearances for the north London side. The loan represents part of a broader squad overhaul at the club, which has made multiple signings and departures during the current transfer window.
