The superhero film earned £3.6 million during the latest frame, bringing its total regional gross to $117.9 million. Meanwhile, Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” from Universal maintained a strong second-place finish in its sixth week of release, collecting $3.7 million and surpassing the $100 million milestone locally with $101.4 million accumulated.
The new horror entry “Insidious: Out of the Further,” distributed by Sony, made a notable impact with its debut, entering at third place and earning $2.9 million during its opening weekend. Warner Bros.’ “The End of Oak Street” followed in fourth position with $1.2 million added to its running total of $6.2 million, while Black Bear’s comedy “Spa Weekend” rounded out the top five with an opening haul of $668,191.
Beyond the leading releases, Mubi’s “Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma,” the latest feature from director Jane Schoenbrun, achieved considerable success in specialized theatrical markets. The film opened at number 11 with $445,317 across its initial weekend and exceeded the lifetime earnings of Schoenbrun’s previous film “I Saw the TV Glow” within days, demonstrating strong audience interest in independent cinema across the region.
