Sonos has announced two new premium audio products, marking another step in the company’s recovery following its challenging app update in 2024. On September 1, the audio manufacturer revealed the Beam Ultra soundbar and Ace Ultra headphones, both available for preorder beginning immediately. The Beam Ultra will retail for $699, while the Ace Ultra headphones are priced at $449. Both devices will become widely available on September 29.
The Beam Ultra represents an enhanced version of Sonos’s existing Beam soundbar, featuring nine custom drivers that include two upward-firing units capable of delivering 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos surround sound. The device incorporates four levels of artificial intelligence-powered speech enhancement and a Night Sound mode designed for late-night viewing. Beyond serving as a standalone centerpiece for home theater setups, the Beam Ultra integrates seamlessly with other Sonos speakers to create a comprehensive surround-sound environment throughout the home.
The Ace Ultra headphones mark the first Sonos headphones built on the company’s Headphone Engine 2 technology, which creates a direct connection to the Sonos speaker ecosystem. This integration allows users to instantly transfer audio between their headphones and home speakers with a single button press. The headphones feature 40mm drivers paired with adaptive noise cancellation technology powered by ten microphones, and Sonos reports battery life reaching up to 35 hours on a single charge.
