India’s dominant streaming service JioHotstar has expanded its reach to the United Kingdom, Canada, and Singapore, marking a significant step in the platform’s international growth. The service brings an extensive collection exceeding 160,000 hours of content spanning more than a dozen Asian languages, accompanied by interactive viewing features and customized recommendation systems tailored to individual viewer preferences.
The rollout represents more than a simple geographic expansion, as JioHotstar introduces audiences in these three markets to an enhanced platform design emphasizing personalization and live engagement opportunities. The service debuts fresh original programming including titles such as “Ali Baba Aur Chaalis Bhoot,” “Prince of Mollywood,” and “The Court,” alongside various blockbuster film releases scheduled throughout the year. The popular “Bigg Boss” reality competition now returns in six language versions, with international audiences able to participate in live voting for the first time.
Notably absent from the initial launch are major sports offerings, including cricket events held under JioStar’s Indian rights agreements. The platform provides viewers with access to content from multiple television networks, with certain shows becoming available to Canadian and Singaporean subscribers before their traditional broadcast dates. JioHotstar is accessible on both mobile devices and connected televisions, with flexible subscription options including a new quarterly tier priced at £19.99 in the U.K., CAD19.99 in Canada, and SGD29.98 in Singapore.
