“Saturday Night Live” is gearing up for its 52nd season with an impressive slate of celebrity hosts and musical performers. The show’s premiere on September 26 will feature NBA star Jalen Brunson, fresh off leading the New York Knicks to their first championship in over five decades, alongside K-pop group Katseye as the musical guest. Both will be making their debuts on the long-running sketch comedy program.
The network also revealed additional hosting assignments for the fall season. Actress Dakota Johnson, whose upcoming film “Verity” arrives in theaters on October 2, will return for her third time hosting on October 3, with rock band Turnstile providing musical accompaniment. Comedian Shane Gillis is set for his third hosting appearance on October 10 with Rosalía as the musical guest. Rising horror film star Inde Navarette will take the reins for the Halloween episode on October 31, accompanied by Gracie Abrams for her second musical guest appearance.
Behind the scenes, the show has experienced some casting changes ahead of the new season. Cast member Chloe Fineman, who joined the program in 2019, has exited after seven seasons. Additionally, writer and former cast member Martin Herlihy, who appeared in the sketch group Please Don’t Destroy, has also left the show.
