A new Brazilian film titled “Seduction” will make its world premiere on September 11 at the 30th Inffinito Brazilian Film Festival in Miami. The feature, directed by Zelito Viana and Marcos Palmeira, is set against the backdrop of the Amazon Rainforest and marks Palmeira’s directorial debut. The acclaimed actor, known for his extensive work in Brazilian telenovelas, series, and films over five decades, collaborates with his father Viana, an experienced producer and director of Cinema Novo classics.
The film follows Paulo, a celebrated actor who travels to the Amazon region following his father’s death to resolve unfinished matters. Throughout his journey, the protagonist confronts the harsh realities of the rainforest environment and undergoes profound personal change. The production was shot in Alter do Chão along the Tapajós River and addresses significant regional concerns, including illegal land grabbing. The cast includes notable Brazilian stars Camila Morgado and Dira Paes.
H2O Films is distributing the project, which board member Jorge Peregrino describes as Viana’s finest work to date. Peregrino credits Palmeira’s directorial contributions with bringing fresh vitality to the film, praising its high production values. In addition to “Seduction,” H2O will release documentary “Tom Jobim – Esse Seu Olhar” in Brazilian theaters during late January, commemorating the 100th birthday of the legendary composer of “The Girl From Ipanema.”
